Plattekill Elementary School Physical Education Teacher was recently awarded the 2025 NYS AHPERD Coaches' Section Amazing People Award for his long time dedication to Wallkill Central School District athletes.
High School Earth Science Special Education Teacher Hilary Fuller was one of the 2025 recipients of the Retiree Counsel #13 Professional Grant. Hilary's grant was awarded the grant for creating her proposed activity entitled "Student Exploration: How Meteorologists and Geologists Collaborate in Addressing Complex Environmental and Societal Challenges."
Former WTA Vice President of Labor Relations, Melissa Tierney, was featured in an amazing NYSUT article written about her journey fighting a very aggressive form of breast cancer. Plattekill Elementary School Kindergarten Teacher, Amber Williams, was named the Grand Marshall for the 2025 St. Patrick's Day Parade in the Hamlet of Wallkill. Congratulations Amber!
Wallkill Senior High School Music & Choral Teacher, Dawn Amthor, was named a 2024 Semifinalist for the GRAMMYS Music Educator Award. Congratulations Dawn!
